Ex2PG Combined Stats - 11 Qu's Marsh, Limit Glove, and Healing Shore
Field Treasures: Tent, Ether, Moocha Coffee.
CH&C Treasures: Ore, Gysahl Greens, Stone with Patterns, Echo Screen, Healing Shore, Annoyntment
Chocograph Treasures: 2 Elixir, 3 Hi-Potion, 4 Ether, 2 Germinas Boots
After getting the Tent from the Dragon Gate, make your way to Qu's Marsh to recruit Quina. Once the scene involving Vivi is over, you can leave the marsh but do so from the right to avoid frog catching.
You have a long walk just past the bridge to the Chocobo Forest before saving, but it is doable. I strongly recommend making equipment changes before saving:
Optimize Vivi, Zidane, Freya, then Quina. Give Quina the Headgear and Zidane the Mage Masher, then remove Zidane and Vivi's Yellow Scarves so their strength is 22 and 14 respectively, and move Vivi and Freya to the front row. This will be important for the next task. Save once you cross the bridge.
Target Time - 2:02:24
Now that you have a save to work from, now head to the forest area to the left and encounter a party of Mandragoras. If the encounter is not a pre-emptive, a Fire from Vivi and a Freya physical attack will put one into "Eat-able" range so that Quina can learn the powerful Limit Glove spell. If by chance the encounter is pre-emptive, a physical attack from Freya FIRST then a physical attack from Vivi will yield the same situation.
At the same time, attack Quina with Zidane and Vivi with the hopes of getting Quina to 1 HP to prepare for the next boss fight. Zidane needs to deal 68 damage (33%) and Vivi 21 damage (50%) and hope the lone Mandragora does not use Blizzara on Zidane or Quina. Then have Zidane use Flee. Getting all of these instances to go right in one go took me over 250 resets. I had a few pre-emptives in there but Zidane and Vivi's damage rolls ruined the fight.
Next, run right on over to the South Gate and get the two treasures there and head to Chocobo's Forest after that. Both of the locations are a very short walk so an encounter is unlikely. Once you get the Gysahl Green, go to the tracks right outside the forest to call Choco and save!
Target Time - 2:05:21, Gil - 685
Now to do two Chocobo Hot and Cold games to get the 'Stone with Patterns' Chocograph, which is always the first one you dig up, the 'Healing Shore' Chocograph, 2 Gysahl Greens, and as many points as possible. The more treasures you dig up in one game, the higher the chance of digging up a Chocograph become, up to a 50% chance on the 8th treasure. It might take a while but you want to do both games without saving in-between as you need to save as much time as possible. More on CH&C later when coming back for the Robe of Lords in a few segments.
I was having a very bad time with Choco's placement (especially that second game) when I was doing these attempts initially, so I just neglected the limit bonuses. It would save me 20 seconds at first, but I would have to practice up really hard on CH&C for the Robe of Lords grind coming up. Also, I wasn't even sure if I got 2 Gysahl Greens after the second game, so I bought two just to be safe. You might want to do that if you forget to see what you dig up.
After getting a chocograph in both games, leave and make your way to dig up the 'Stone with Patterns' location and equip the chocograph, while checking to see if you got Healing Shore which will be on the same page. Then head to the entrance of Gizamaluke's Grotto and make the following equipment changes...
Optimize Quina (should get the Feather Hat) then Vivi, give Vivi the Leather Wrist. Optimize Zidane then give him the Mage Masher and Leather Shirt (should get Germinas Boots), then activate Freya's Cover, Quina's Add Status and Millionaire abilities, and move everyone to the back row, and save!
Target Time - 2:09:25, Gil - 615
