My favorite part of Disc 1. Now that we have the Oak Staff, Stop is another way to avoid EXP in mandatory fights, so one round should be doable for this final Type A fight. Once Quina's job is done, have Freya knock him out so that Limit Glove can be set up later. Stop has a nice visual cue to determine if it succeeds on small-sized enemies. If the ATB gauges stop or flash or the command window disappears at the flash, it's successful.

Now to get through Burmecia with no encounters. There is a lot of screens but only a few lengthy ones in the beginning pose a threat. When going for the Germinas Boots, hold up-left to run across the wooden bridge without breaking it, then run right to make it drop to the floor below. The Protection Bell hidden under the bed is required to progress further.
After the scene midway, head straight into the building from the ground to save a couple from a falling statue. This is also required to open a way on the upper level.
Once in the courtyard, head to the left door for another scene, getting the missable Mythril Spear. Now head to the other door on the right. The Lightning Staff is not missable but Stiltzkin's offer (and the Ribbon from him on Disc 4) is if you do not open the chest. Buy Stiltzkins deal, deliver and accept a letter from Atla, automatically getting a Kupo Nut and save!

On the reload, use a Phoenix Down on Quina and reset until you get 1 HP. Then remove everyone's equipment except Zidane's, give him the Mythril Dagger and activate Bandit. When prompted, leave Freya alone.
Beatrix is fast, so she may get a turn before you can do anything. If you get the chance, have Zidane steal before Quina casts Limit Glove. Try to get the Chain Plate to save on money. The fight ends after Beatrix takes 10 turns or you deplete her HP. Guess which option we're going with? Once the fight is 'over' you have a short moment to steal one more time before the ending of Disc 1.
