Before leaving Alexandria, we have to fight Tantarian per the requirements of the Ex2PG. With the setups from before, Zidane's HP should be 105/126, allowing some room for an Ore to restore 12 HP, hence why you need to have 3 and only three Ore in the inventory. This is the setup for Lucky Seven. This fight will take quite the patience as you need 7777 three times. That's a 1 in 64 chance!
You will need two characters including Zidane to go right away, as it's likely Tantarian will force a reset. Have someone use an Ore on Zidane and quickly input Lucky Seven before Tantarian can do anything. The first 7777 will open the book and Tantarian will cast Poison while he is open. Zidane's Antibody will keep his HP where it is to keep Lucky Seven live.
Three 7777s straight up will kill Tantarian, which we can't have since Vivi is taking the EXP here, so have Freya and another character throw 2 Hi-Potions on Tantarian. Freya's Chemist ability will double the effect of one of the potions so you don't have to throw 3. After the 3rd 7777 hits, a simple physical from Vivi will kill. Vivi will reach Level 18.

Follow Dagger's path to the top of the castle and after some FMVs and more scenes, Alexandria will fall and you will eventually end up in the Lindblum Castle Guest Room. Pick up the Egoist's Armlet and the letter for Moodon. Saving is optional since there is just story progression for the rest of this video, but I saved because I was short on time when I got my Tantarian segment.
Target Time - 7:45:29, Gil - 137294
When leaving the guest room, choose the default selection, but before heading toward the elevator, talk to the royal guard down the stairs. This will allow you to go straight into the royal chamber without going to the conference room below first. You still have to talk to the guard at the door, though.
After some scenes, you will be tasked with finding 3 potions in an attempt to revert Cid to a human. First, head to the Business District and head to the lady behind the fountain for the 1st potion. Then, make a stop at the synthesis shop to synthesize a full stock of 99 Cotton Robes and a Glass Buckle. Return to the air cab and head to the Theater District, thus skipping delivering the letter for Moodon. You can deliver the letter after getting the Excalibur II, as it's just a waste of time right now.
After meeting up with the couple you rescued from Burmecia, head to the Tantalus hideout to get the 2nd potion, and after Zidane leaves the screen automatically, return to the hideout for some substantially more gil amounts. Lastly, head to Michael's studio for the 3rd potion, after you ask him first. Then head back to the Royal Chamber.
After Cid becomes a frog, head to the Serpent's Gate and head outside to the dock and board the Blue Narciss, choose Vivi, Eiko, and Quina and make your way toward the Chocobo Lagoon, but you will have to disembark at the large island with the chocobo tracks. Get to the tracks, call Choco and save.
