What were you doing in 1894? That's the year that a group of rugged miners began digging the Grizzly Gulch Mine in the mountains of Nevada looking for silver and lead. Not too long ago, Nick and I decided to explore and document this extensive abandoned mine on video before it caves-in on itself or otherwise becomes inaccessible.

The waste rock pile outside the abandoned mine is quite substantial, so we knew the mine was going to have some significant workings. The main haulage tunnel is similar to those of many abandoned mines. It goes in quite far, and along the way we spotted numerous raises and winzes to upper and lower levels. This mine also featured some miners' graffiti including some miners' artwork which is always cool to find and document on video.

Nick's YouTube channel is here, so be sure to stop by, say hello, and subscribe to him so you don't miss out on all of his abandoned mine exploration videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5-1Mf2hhH-vo_uGT4lBC6w
