Who spends four hours wandering around inside a 125-year old abandoned mine with miles of tunnels? Nick and I did! The Delamar Mine is a massive, multi-level gold mine that was worked from 1895 to about 1900 or so. Over thirteen million dollars worth of gold was extracted from this mine which, at the time, was one of Nevada's largest. In Part 1, I explore the main haulage tunnel with Nick which we estimated goes straight into the hillside for a couple thousand feet. We passed many branching tunnels along the way, and those branching tunnels will be explored in the upcoming Part 2. For now, sit back and enjoy Part 1 which features the endless main haulage tunnel. Enjoy!
