F-Zero GX on Switch 2 GameCube Classics: Master Class beaten with Big Fang
25this ship is one of the better ones among the pilot ships. it has some strong features but at the same time it has some big weaknesses that hold it back. among the good things it's got a non-boosted top speed above 1100 Km/h which is a pretty big advantage since it lets the ship open up a big lead in lap 1. several of the top ships are like this. it also has pretty good stick steering so you don't need to do much to take most corners. things start falling apart once the acceleration comes into play since it's one of the worst in the game. i suppose it was made like this as a balance thing since it's similar to Hyper Speeder but this ship falls a bit short overall compared to that one since the grip is pretty bad and the booster is weaker (no surprise this ship gets overlooked). the acceleration also affects the booster so it takes a while to get decent speeds. overall it's still a decent pick if you can manage the acceleration.
i'm playing using the Wii U GC Adapter and an original GC controller. i also have an input display to show what i do during gameplay. the input display also comes with a function to change sensitivity and that lets me get around the sensitivity problem present in this version. it feels much closer to the original. there's still the input lag but it's more manageable.
