(Factorio 21) Gleba Goodbye? (Backlogging 74)
So long, and thanks for all the...fruit?
But really I'll have to come back at some point. And by come back I mean use robots to do things for me, because I'm lazy. Bacteria reproduction seems a little...variable, I'll say. I don't have a permanent solution for it yet, so mostly the storage chests are just a giant timer/buffer letting me how long I can neglect Gleba before having to do some overhauling. I guess I can just use robots to put Iron/Copper Bacteria into the system by destroying one of the algae/mossy rocks that have them. Though they're technically limited, I'm sure I'll always have at least one nearby. If not, expanding with Roboports won't be too hard.
All the new recipes basically need me to go back to Nauvis anyways, so I'll probably be looking to capture a Biter Spawner to unlock the recipes soon. Turns out I don't actually need to go to space for Carbon Fiber, so the Gleba Station will probably go unused. I need to get Bioflux back to Nauvis for the Biter eggs to make artificial soils, and also Biolabs, so I guess Gleba isn't really over yet, but I do have the infrastructure to automatically send Bioflux back if I just use the S.S. Gleba. I suppose I could make a better ship with the new recipes that can also serve as a blueprint for an Aquilo ship. We'll see. Overall, though, an interesting challenge of a planet, with a heavy focus on using filters and solving latency issues due to spoilage.
