(Factorio 16) The Gleba Experience (Backlogging 69)
Gleba? More Like Gle-blah!
Yeah I got a little overwhelmed, which is something that only Factorio and Satisfactory have ever done to me. If I did a read-through of Gleba's mechanics beforehand, this probably would've gone a whole lot smoother. It really wasn't all that complicated once I started some trial and error progress, and robots make everything way simpler, but the spoilage threw me for a loop so I got caught like a deer in the headlights mentally. I think some Factorio Space Age veterans would cringe watching me put those Pentapod eggs in a regular burner on Gleba, lol.
I think it's pretty annoying how much I need to craft on Gleba to unlock the recipes, especially the nutrient one. I think I get the idea after just 10 of those bad boys spoiling in my pants and making my Engineer look like he wet himself. Why do I need to make 500 nutrients for the artificial soils? It's a little hard for me to plan out a Gleba Factory without having all the tools available from the get go so I can balance things properly. I do, however, like how Gleba is basically burner tech+ as a challenge. I think burner's get outclassed pretty quickly in the base game if you know what you're doing so you never really utilize them for long, and I think nutrients are an interesting take on it. Would be kind of miserable without robots, but I'm sure somebody likes doing it that way. You don't technically NEED to interact with the planet outside of whatever recipes you need for science. All the raw materials can usually be gotten elsewhere.
The new ship seems to work fine. I didn't connect 2 furnaces at first with the initial design, but I figure it out eventually. I should probably have held off on making the Fulgora ship since it was taking up all my Rocket Silos on Nauvis, so I couldn't get supplies to Gleba as fast. Definitely have to avoid doing that on future playthroughs. That or made even more Rocket Silos on Nauvis. Hmm, that might not be such a bad idea now that I'm thinking about it.
