Dementium is the rare example of a mature shooter on a Nintendo portable system, not to mention a rarer example of the increasing sparse genre called Survival Horror. You play as William Redman, an unfortunate who has had an operation on his brain to save his life. The as yet unnamed Doctor decides to try out an experimental procedure to maintain his sanity after something goes wrong: plunging him into an orchestrated nightmare wherein William may have a chance to fight his way out of a demonic asylum and back to sanity. But are the Doctor's methods really concern for William's well being, or just the first phase of a diabolical experiment?
