I know there's now an official World War Z trailer with Brad Pitt, but if you're like me you were a bit disappointed in flashy effects over the heart of the story: what mankind would do worldwide in the case of a zombie pandemic. I personally was hoping for a found footage style docu-drama from multiple viewpoints, not just single family man hero in another CGI heavy action movie. For me, despite the scope, WWZ is firmly in the realm of horror, both of the undead contagion as well as the moral implications of a war of attrition fought primarily in populated areas. How do you recover from a conflict spanning the entire human race? How do individuals in every country handle to outbreak?
And what method is too dire to consider in defeating a ravening horde?
These questions and ideas strike me as much more interesting then a CGI zombie mosh pit.
I did an earlier trailer for my own version of WWZ, but with a little more editing experience and better clips I hope I've done the concept a bit more justice here.
