Fallen Leaf: Part 101: Completing the Mother Stalk (& Gaining Incredible Power!)
Throughout this whole game, one big Side Quest you could do was find and collect Peamen. They come in all kinds of different shapes.
Each time you found enough of them, you go a reward for it, such as new Passive Upgrades, or a new Magical Weapon.
But finding ALL of the Peamen in the game?! Well...
-----------
The Mother Stalk regrows back to the tallest that she can reach. So you climb the clouds to finally meet her face.
But then... that one human guy that was here in this spot the whole time. That Ned character... He suddenly shoves you out of the way to get a wish you can! His wish? ONE MILLION JEWELS... and a large pepperoni pizza and a chocolate cake.
One way or another, the Mother Stalk woke up pretty angry. She went on a rampage, violently lashed Ned out of there, and now you have to fight her off, yourself!
She has A LOT of health. More than what I'm used to up to this point of the game, but persevere, and you will eventually beat her! Just watch out for her vines, energy spores, and how much she likes to spit the Peamen you rescued at her!
----------
When the Mother Stalk is beaten, this actually just calms her back down to a pleasant face. Apparently she always gets this pissed off after being woken up from a long, long slumber.
Rather than rewarding Leaf's party with pizza, she wanted to think bigger for bringing back all of her Peamen children and restoring her back to full power...
You gain... a Golden Gauntlet! This incredible power turns all of your characters into a super-golden shine, and permanently keeps their power boosts at their max, even after taking damage. As a bonus, this gives a new boost to your Double (and Triple) Jump.
As a Passive Upgrade, you can also toggle this off if you want, but I'm gonna keep it on for the rest of this game (of which I have little left to cover at this point).
As for what happened to Ned...? You can actually visit him in Canopy Town from this point on. He's now on a crutch and looks pretty mad that his plan didn't work. He makes you owe him a pizza, and if DO have a slice on you, you just end up taunting him with it, instead!
Serves him right!
----
I also go back to Hot-Foot Howie's Juicy Spot in New O'Maly City. Something actually changes here if you revisit it after Howie joins your party (I should've checked for this a long time ago).
His closest "friend" of sorts is Dustin, waiting in a car that he uses for Howie's extreme stunts. He actually hates how many cars he's already wrecked for this, and Howie owes him A LOOOOOOT of money, money that Howie not only doesn't have, but will also lose more of thanks to the wrath of the city's landlords for his... "criminal trespassing"?
Man... for Dustin, with friends like these...
Lastly, speaking of pizza before, I checked back in the Stucky O'Beach Strip to visit its Pizza O'Maly's place. Ralph is now there, but he's still waiting to get hire for the incredible Resume you've given to him before.

Now to go back to The Dreadlands with this new power and go beat its last boss!
