Fallout 3 Playthrough (No Commentary) Part 5: Even More Survival Guide & Starting Blood Ties
0This is a casual playthrough of Fallout 3, Karma decisions will be made according to what I feel is right.
Once we finish the 2nd chapter of the Survival Guide i decided to get to work on other quests, the main reason is that one of the research points requires us to have enough skill points in science in order to fulfill the optional goal, so i need to get a few more levels before i want to attempt that.
Now the Blood Ties quest can be started without having to talk to Lucy if you visit Arefu first, but having the letter makes certain parts of the quest much easier and it puts it on the map so it's easier to find without aimless wandering.
Other than that we also pop a visit to the school nearby Megaton, but since it doesn’t have any quest attached it’s simply going to be sped up. I could have cut it out but exploring all the destroyed buildings and relics of the old civilization is something I really enjoy in the game. The main reason is that you usually glean some sort of story from them, such as the last moments of the victims of the bomb or the struggles of the survivors who have only the notes and terminals as their only reminder of their existence. It might be depressing and dark but I still enjoy trying to piece the bits together to figure out their fates.
On this part, we fail at stealth, intentionally break our legs and almost get blown up by an old man.
