A playthrough of Fallout Tactics, the third title of the Fallout game franchise that came out in 2001. While a "Fallout" game, Fallout Tactics is considered non-canon in the Fallout franchise established by the numbered titles, though some parts of the story told by the Brotherhood of Steel focused game have been integrated into the storyline as suggested in Fallout 3.

Following the success in Canyon City, the Brotherhood presses the attack on the robot threat by sending the Warrior and his squad to Buena Vista. The battle with the robots has escalated in intensity as the Calculator was quite aware of the Brotherhood's fighting capabilities that had slowed its plans to exterminate all life in the wasteland. There would be heavy resistance facing the Warrior's squad no matter where they go now.

Buena Vista was too valuable a target to give up on, however. Intel operatives found that the outskirts of the town housed a nuclear power plant that was likely powering the Calculator's robot army in the region. The existence of a nearby manufacturing facility to produce robots was suspected as well based on observation that more robots were coming out than coming in to the area.

Unlike previous missions, the radiation in the vicinity made getting a real-time map of the area impossible, putting the Warrior's squad at a tactical disadvantage. In addition, another squad of elite Brothers were sent in ahead of the Warrior's squad to attempt to breach the reactor building. While the objective was to disable the reactor, the mission was deemed too difficult for the Warrior's squad to handle on their own.

Navigating past robot defenses and ambushes, the Warrior's squad do manage to make their way to where the advance team tried to breach the reactor's perimeters. Unfortunately, the entirety of the advance team had been wiped out, even equipped with power armor. It was up to the Warrior's squad to finish the mission.

Eyes peeled for anything that could be of use, the Warrior's squad finds a terminal that held more pre-war information about the capabilities of Vault 0 and the Calculator. Apparently they possessed the means to create aerial weapons that could have given a huge advantage over all living things in the wasteland. Further in, the Warrior's squad find Initiate Percy fatally wounded and listened to his final words asking the team to carry on with the mission.

Having destroyed all the robots they could find outside, the Warrior's squad focused their efforts on turning any robots they encountered indoors into scrap metal. The reactor certainly wasn't going anywhere but any robot left functioning would just make its way back to the main forces to carry out new directives.

When the mission was complete and the reactor destroyed, the Warrior's squad learns in the debriefing that the reactor had indeed been a critical resource to the Calculator. Robot patrols in the region soon relocated themselves elsewhere as the Calculator turned elsewhere to manufacture more robot soldiers. Although the threat is far from over, the victory brought a much needed boost to morale, especially considering that a whole veteran squad had sacrificed their lives for the success of this mission.
