A playthrough of Fallout, the first title of the Fallout game series that came out in 1997. Includes random commentary from me.

This video begins with a New Game using my own changes to the pre-made character Albert as the Vault Dweller.

Albert gets selected to leave his home, Vault 13, in search of a water chip needed for the vault to produce fresh drinking water. Vault 13's water chip had broken and the Overseer decided that the best lead would to be head for a nearby vault to find the needed part.

Albert finds a settlement called Shady Sands, coming into contact with the first humans on the surface since leaving Vault 13. The rustic lifestyle led by the inhabitants of the surface is harsh and the battle for survival in constant. In Shady Sands he learns more about the world outside his vault, such as the existence of giant mutate radscorpions and the use of bottle caps as currency for bartering goods. He also makes friends with Ian, a guard who once traveled with caravans before settling in Shady Sands. Ian became the first companion to join the Vault Dweller in his dangerous quest.

Together, they cleared a nearby cave that was the nest of a large group of radscorpions. Their bravery saved Shady Sands from the radscorpion threat that had brought harm to the people of Shady Sands and sample of radscorpion tails helped the local doctor concoct an antidote for their powerful venom.

With Shady Sands now safe again, the Vault Dweller sets off for Vault 15, which the people of Shady Sands originally came from. However, what he discovered home to many mutated rodents that had made the abandoned Vault 15 their nest. No power flowed through the remnants of Vault 15 and Albert put the rope he found to good use. With it, he could make his way down to the lower levels that once were accessed via elevator.

Though Vault 15 was mostly bare, there were still usable items and equipment to be found. But at the lowest level the Vault Dweller was faced with an impossible barrier in the form of collapsed passages barred by tons of rock. Albert quickly knew that Vault 15 was not going to be the salvation Vault 13 needed, and promptly made his way back out to the surface to continue the search for a replacement water chip.

I set the game difficult to easy and battle difficulty to wimpy just cause the goal is a playthrough, not a speed run, not a test to prove how good I am at this game.

Please note there's a lot of saving and reloading to reflect the reality of using "Steal." If there is demand for a "clean" run without resorting to stealing that causes lots of saves and reloads, I may consider re-recording the game playthrough.
