Farland Story is the first of many SRPG games popular in China, Korea, and Japan, and has since inspired other titles within the genre. The story centers around a powerful lord named Arc who's love, Ferio, is kidnapped by a mysterious black knight, and he travels around the world with his friends and comrades trying to rescue her.

This game's charm comes from its simplicity and effectiveness. You can liberate towns (and shop in them), find hidden treasures, use special attacks, and gain levels. This game is more about teamwork compared to some SRPGs, as dividing your team without just cause can be rather troublesome. There are better strategy games for the SFC, but Farland Story is okay. Its SFC "sequel" is better. This is a small sample of the game. Enjoy.
