So, are you looking for an SNES shooter that delivers? Want one that's co-op? Want one with loads of action and explosions? Then do we have a game for you! Firepower 2000 (also known as Super Swiv) was developed by the same people who developed titles like "The Lawnmower Man" and it shows just as much mercy for the unsuspecting player, which would be just about none. This game takes that saying about the SNES' difficulty with handling shooters and action-packed games and practically tosses it out the window. The saddest part? It's a common game that most have probably never heard of or played.

Few shooters on the SNES offer two player shooting goodness like Firepower 2000, and it makes other cooperative shooters like (SNES/SFC) Raiden Trad look like a joke. This game has crisp visuals, nice effects, and a decent soundtrack. While it's pretty lacking in originality, it more than makes up for it with a great arcade-quality experience. I would say the game has no originality, but it actually has a few interesting tidbits.

The cool thing is that you can play with either a tank, helicopter, or both. The helicopter can fly over terrain, making it better suited for evading enemies, but it can only shoot in a straight path. The tank can shoot in eight directions, but it gets impeded by land obstacles and trenches. It has the ability to jump over some obstacles though. The helicopter crashes into other planes while the tank crashes into land vehicles. When both are together in 2-Player mode, it creates quite a unique experience where teamwork is essential. If the tank gets cut-off by the screen, he graciously DOES NOT lose a life, but it is one of this game's few acts of kindness.

The game features three primary weapons that can be powered up a few times and sweet sub-weapons, as well as an interesting shield system. Shields in this game can be grabbed to protect you for a limited amount of time or shot at until they make a large nuclear explosion that destroys everything on screen. The way to use the shield is up to you, but makes for a cool feature. This video is me and my bro playing. I'm player 2 and he's player one. Enjoy.
