After 4 long years, OpenAL Soft has been updated enough to the point where F.E.A.R. 1 can be played with full 3D audio support. The reverb panning is now fully implemented, and is most noticeable with footsteps and when I use melee on the wall. Buffers also don't seem to run out, anymore. I played with EAX 2 and EAX Advanced HD on in the menu to make absolute sure. Only one voice during the chopper ride in Interval 04 seemed to not play, and that could've been a simple bug.

I was never really happy with the original DSOAL video since I didn't have a lot of time to find a suitable horror-themed level. Well, this one's not really scary either, but it's one of the best uses of 3D audio in the entire game. Sure I might've taken half the month to record it (damn my tyranny opposing lifestyle) but you have to admit it was worth it.

I'm running F.E.A.R. with the DirectInput FPS fix as well as the 4GB Large Address Aware fix, subtitle mod, and "bodies stay" mod.
