The early Final Fantasy games were my main jams growing up. I lost count of how many times I finished the original game, and probably played through it on just as many different systems.
I bought my PS1 in college for the express purpose of playing 7.
I always loved the pixel art, of which this book is nothing but!
Sadly there's a few omissions here and there, but it's a well presented journey through nostalgia.
While the book is predominantly focused on the early games, it would've been cool to have a lot of the updated sprites from some of the offshoot games like Brave Explorers or the Tactics series, which have just as much sprite work as the older games, if not more in some cases.
I guess there's always room for a sequel!
