I apologize for almost a month long delay between the previous video and this one. I had problems progressing through the game until the next set of bosses. First, it appeared that I had forgotten to save after defeating the 3rd Ultros in the Esper cave and I had to make another few dozen of attempts to finish him off (Tentacle abuse was the thing that was causing the problems). Then I had really awful luck with getting the right formation of monsters on the Veldt for the purpose of Rage and Blue Magic learning. Finally, getting the right forced encounters before Floating Continent was incredibly annoying and, in addition to wasting my time, exhausted my patience. I gave up here and gained an addition level of Gau (he is level 13, not level 12). If you've done this part in an LLG you'll know just how frustrating this part is.

Anyway, the next part is finally here!

Ultros & Chupon

This was much harder than I expected it to be (I don't recall having any issues with this boss whatsoever when I was doing the same challenge sans the natural magic part in the GBA version). The problems were caused by the now legendary due to its annoyance Ultros's Tentacle as well as Chupon's Fireball attack.

It was not easy to come up with the strategy for this battle. I tried both offensive and defensive strategies, but none of them seemed to work. First of all, the battle is automatically over when Chupon's 10K HP is reduced to zero. Killing Ultros is purely optional, however, you need to take off 5K from his HP before you can actually have Chupon appear.

The strategy that lead to the victory shown in the video was as follows: Strago and Locke defend to ensure survival in the case of the infamous Tentacle, whilst Gau rages ChickenLip.

Raging ChickenLip gives you a 50% chance of casting Quake, a powerful spell that deals great damage to both the enemies, even though it seems that they are supposed to float (?). Equipping Gaia Gear on the party makes them absorb earth damage, thus everyone but Gau returns to max HP after each time you are lucky to get this spell (as opposed to having Gau use a regular physical attack).

Once Ultros summons Chupon, a relatively offensive strategy should be used. Strago should cast Step Mine, which does 1300+ damage on my file, Locke should toss Ice Rods and Gau is in the auto-pilot mode. Gau doesn't recover HP after Quake, so he should be healed often.

I was lucky here, because I saw neither Fireball nor Tentacle in the very end of the battle (they were the reason why I had to open state and restart some 30 times).

Imperial Air Force

Compared to Ultros & Chupon, this battle was heaven. It required only a few resets (not few dozen). The beginning was hard nevertheless, with the chance of the boss using a full-party unblockable attack and leaving Gau the only character alive (if you're lucky, that is). The lasers also seem to concentrate on a single target, as I have noticed, so Fenix Downs should be tossed.

The strategy for the beginning of the battle is all-out offence. Gau rages ChickenLip and his allies toss Thunder Rods, concentrating on a single target to make things considerably safer.

After one part was destroyed in this battle, the Speck appears and absorbs "all magic", which, thankfully, does not include the Quake rage. Get rid of the lower part afterwards (which I had trouble targetting thinking it's the left part) and then finish off the boss when it is alone and helpless. I didn't need to recover either HP or MP because all status is recovered after you get sneezed off the ship.

The next video will show my epic battle against the Atma F'n Weapon!!!
