FFTA - Blue Mage SSCC Part III: Mateus
Sorry for entering a video description so late. When I was uploading the video, the site told me there was an error and I wanted to postpone the process until the next day. Little did I know, YouTube still got it uploaded, only 8 hours after the upload was made, while I was seeing my seventh dream.
Yeah, so many people watched this video without a description and I hope that those who aren't going to come back to this video and read it have understood every bit. If not, that's a pity. For all others, however...
I didn't prepare for Mateus much, nor did I level up like a madman. I equipped a Thunder Robe to make sure he never uses Thundaga, one of his most disastrous spells and... That's about it.
What was really important was entering the mission on a day Fight AND Knives are banned. The former ensures the vampires never perform any straightforward attacks on you. All they have left is the ranged poisoning attack (equip the Immunity S-Ability to prevent being poisoned!) and most of the time they can't use it without hurting the boss and, according to my experience, the AI NEVER hurts its allies on purpose.
Why Knives? No reason really, besides the fact that any attack with a Saber gives you a Judge Point and that does include a combo attack as well. As we're always out of MP because of (or actually, owing to) Damage - MP, Combo is our only means of dealing damage to the boss. D-MP A-Ability is sufficient to survive the battle, with a bit of luck and some careful placement of the character on the field.
I started the battle by using Bad Breath on Mateus which inflicted Blind on him. This is, perhaps, the reason why Damage - MP was just enough, as otherwise heavy damaging attacks would bring me to submission quickly.
Well, that's it, hope this explains stuff.
