The next battles are a relief after night-impossibility of the first Gades encounter, though still not a reason to relax.

Our party first has their revenge against Gades. This time he has less than half of his HP in the previous battle, not to mention that Dekar is a powerful addition to the party, almost able to solo this one.

He wouldn't need the Gades Blade to defeat the first Sinistral; however, I had to show just how insanely strong the weapon's IP can be at this point in the game. I equipped Dekar the Undead Ring so that his attacks would be light-elemental and thus effective against Gades. I think he didn't even stay alive until the 8th hit of Octo-Strike.

After this, Maxim and Selan combat versus Idura for the first time. The stronger members of our party are not available, so this is not the easiest battle. Fortunately, I did win and got Maxim killed just in time. Foomy in his master form helped quite a bit too (unlike a certain flame-based creature which always runs away, cough).

Then Guy and, most importantly, Dekar join us and we fight the last compulsory battle before the Ancient Cave becomes available.

Lions are easy. As you can see, I didn't even need to put the weaker members of the party in the back row, nor did I need to charge Dekar's IP.

After that, I made me first raid of the Ancient Cave. In this video, I show the battle against the Jelly.

By the time I had to write this description, I had already finished farming for blue chest items in the AC for future boss battles. That doesn't mean, however, that I've got everything I wanted. I'll see if I ever need to return to the sidequest. Depends on how much luck I'll have with the next bosses.
