Looks surprisingly easy, eh? This final boss isn't all that hard in this challenge unless she decides to use HP Descent (instant game over without any chances to survive, as we missed getting a Cheer Staff for Reraise). Well, that, and we need to blind her on the very first turn (40% with Concentrate) and at least one Mateus (I didn't go for the second one in this video because my party was spamming critical hits and the boss promised to go down very quickly).

It's usually considered that if Li-Grim is surrounded, she is less likely to use Descent (or Magi). There's some logic in that as she always goes to the corner of the area when she decides to cast it, so not allowing her to move should limit her to different attacks. I've seen her summon Famfrit even when surrounded from all sides though on one of the attempts, so we're not perfectly safe in this situation either.

So yes, that's our strategy. Blind Li-Grim on the first turn (Archer seems to be faster than anyone else in spite of her low level). Surround her as quickly as possible. The physical attackers should gather around her immediately and so should Montblanc whose spells deal 1 damage to the boss and who's only used to block the boss's path. Talk about useless moogles.

Not sure what else to add... Everyone has an offensive setup with the strongest weapon we've managed to get, our Viera has a Rubber Suit on (and you see her nullifying lightning damage at one point) and the White Mage has White Robe which halves elemental damage. It allows him to survive Thundaga closer to the end of the battle. The mage also has Turbo MP equipped.

That's it, I think. The offensive strategy seems to work best here because letting her live for a long time usually means seeing Descent followed by the game over screen.
