I was really looking forward to the next Totema battle with Adrammelech. No matter what challenge it is you're playing, succeeding here usually means you'll beat the game.

I can't say I was prepared very well. I didn't reset after Antilaws to get the prizes I wanted and my equipment could've been better if I spent a couple hours doing the mission over and over until I would get the right stuff. What's more is that I quickly ended the mission where you fight Babus for the first time by defeating the boss and ignoring his allies entirely. That made the battle easy but kept my levels very low.

For Adrammelech, my team's levels were 6-9, higher for those who were presented during the Ultima Crystal battle (with Charm banned, the crystals couldn't do much, but their defences were high so it was a long battle with many actions performed).

I approached Adra the usual way, entering on the day Fire was banned. This doesn't affect the boss, as usual, but limits one of the dragons to physical attacks only (which is nice, as breath attacks can be devastating).

I don't think this battle is possible without Artemis Bow and its ability Cupid. I tried blinding the enemies first but it changed very little: my White Mage still couldn't keep up with enemy attacks and within a couple of turns it was always a game over.

So I tried Cupid next and it worked wonders. Not only does it mean the charmed enemy doesn't attack you but he acts on your side. Charm all three dragons (something I didn't manage to do) and it'll be a 9-on-1 battle.

Any attack aimed at Adra coming from his own charmed allies does at least 4x damage my most offensively developed unit can get (which is the Soldier, I guess...). And of course, they'll hurt each other as well which, on the one hand, means you'll have less to worry about given that they die and, on other hand, if they're still alive they'll snap out of it and start attacking you instead.

The red dragon hurt Adra towards the end of the battle once and the second time it attacked the boss was when he had only 6 HP and anything would kill him anyway. Most of the damage was still caused by my own units but I wouldn't have done it if all three dragons were on Adra's side (Mighty Guard cast on the Soldier was nice since he could survive Adrammelech's Firestream).

This was getting ugly when I lost Marche and the White Mage but I got lucky at the end.
