The difficulty of the boss battles in this segment generally varies from moderate to moderately hard, with the last battle against Kefka being the hardest battle up to this point and requiring most resets (though I think Ultros was a lot harder, but I got lucky quicker there). Still, I was stuck on Kefka for a pretty long time.

For Phantom Train, the party doesn't really have much choice what to do. Specials and items aren't allowed and nobody knows any magic yet. Everybody pummels the train with front row attacks hoping that it dies before multi-target moves likes Acid Rain start being used. And, this is achieved. Shadow is the only person in the party with more than just one weapon to be equipped so he's given the Genji Glove and attacks with two knives instead of one.

Rhizopas is tricky, first of all, because El Nino is, as usual, the end of the battle. Sabin and Cyan aren't too good offensively with Shadow gone but manage to win before they're really hurt. It could've been a lot worse.

When you fight Tunnel Armor, you usually rely on Runic and defensively strategies involving healing. Well, we can't Runic anything in LLNSNI and healing can only be done using the Cure spell. Most spells coming our way are deadly and the boss is likely to cast one every turn so a lot of luck is needed to win, and the most offensive strategy is involved, with doublewielding auto-hasted Locke and Celes casting Ice with two Earrings on.

Kefka was too annoying, more annoying than ever before. Just like normally, an MT Blizzara is a game over. But that's not the problem, the problem is that any spell targeting a single character will kill them, and we have no means of reviving. Kefka has 3K HP and it takes a bit of luck to deal so much damage to him.

As you can see, I equipped Terra and Edgar so that a single physical attack from Kefka sends them to critical health. This is done in the hope that perhaps they'll survive and perform a desperation attack 30 seconds into the battle. This never happened, but I didn't perceive this strategy as risky because you're too likely to fail even if you play as safely as you can.

Cyan is the best attacker here, doublewielding his two best katana and equipped with the Gigas Glove.

One more boss battle (supposedly a really hard one), and we'll finally get access to magic. The difficulties won't end there however, as MP is still very much limited and I have absolutely no clue how I'm going to divide the experience for the mine cart ride (reviving characters with magic means you'll run out of MP way too quickly).

I think the levels in this challenge will be higher than in a normal LLG because of that.
