The video probably doesn't do the actual run enough justice, but these were the minutes of some of the craziest adrenaline rushes I'd had while playing games, though the entire Touhou series gives me that a lot.

Perfect Cherry Blossom is the seventh game in the series, and there were several things that made it more player-friendly than the previous ones. Getting extra lives is easier, and the borders allow you to withstand attacks and spell cards you otherwise would have trouble with.

Yet for some reason I always failed to unlock the extra stage here. The actual stage four gave me trouble, as it was long and difficult to concentrate on. The stage four boss (actually, three), while seemingly easy, always took some of my lives without my consent, and Youmu I always found to be hell.

I wanted to squeeze that battle into this video too but it would have gone over the limit of 11 minutes if I had done that.

On this run, I played as Reimu A, whose homing missiles are weak but allow the players to reach the boss regardless of their location. This is hardly my favourite character to play as, both Marisa types and Sakuya A being my most played in this game (Sakuya A especially, as she auto-targets the enemy when focused and still does good enough damage in the process).

I wasted no lives in the first three levels, having bombed once on Chen and twice on Alice, and by the end of stage four I had three bombs and the maximum amount of lives (8 or 9, I can't remember exactly). Then I lost a live right before the boss, but the battle against the Prismriver sisters went rather well (either one or two lives lost which is good for my skills).

Now Youmu did drain most of my remaining life, and I even lost a life with three bombs in stock, which was just terrible. I arrived to this stage with 5 lives left and lost one during the midboss, even though I was lucky enough to be gifted with a border, which I always break to help me maintain my lives and bombs.

Yuyuko is the final boss, and one I've never been good at. I spent a bit of time in practice mode but some of her attacks always give me trouble. You can probably tell which ones I imply by the amount of bombing in the video. Sometimes I bomb just because I know I may not have the chance to predict dying because of the fast bullets flying around, and it's hard to say whether that affected my chances of winning positively or not.

The epic part starts a bit into the video where I realise just how close I am to finally unlocking the Extra mode, the adrenaline starts pumping and I just start shaking all of a sudden. This happens during an attack that I normally find easy, meaning it's apparently sometimes an awesome feeling when you suck at a safe part of the boss.

Welp, this was really fun and close as hell, and I'm glad I didn't forget to save the replay of it. I like uploading these videos because I watch them often to find solutions to problematic attacks and improve at this very fun series.
