I can't record any PS2 games right now and most of my emulator are not on the computer I have so here's a filler / non-RPG recording.

This video shows the last 8 or so minutes of my 1cc attempt in the fourth Touhou game, Lotus Land Story. I show the entirety of stages 5 & 6.

For those who never played the games... Touhou is a vertical danmaku shooter game, and LLS is the fourth game released for PC-98. Players may select between Easy, Normal, Hard and Lunatic difficulties and they start with a specific number of lives and bombs. A bomb stops all bullets on the screen, granting you invincibility and also damaging all enemies. When you lose a life, the bomb number goes back to the maximum you chose in Options. It is therefore a fundamental tactic to always bomb when you think you're about to die. If you're out of lives, you may select a Continue. In LLS, you have 3 Continues.

In LLS, there are 6 stages, Yuka Kazami being the boss for the last two. If you're playing on Easy Mode / if you used a continue before beating stage 5 boss, you don't get to the final stage and see the bad ending. I hear losing during the final stage has the same effect, with no chance to continue.

1cc stands for "one credit coin", I think, and is an attempt to beat the game without using continues. If that is accomplished on any difficulty besides Easy, you unlock the Extra Stage for the character you 1cc'd the game with. You can play as Reimu and Marisa, both of whom have two different shot types.

I've already unlocked the extra stage with MarisaA before, and this time I'm playing with ReimuA. Watch to see if I manage to succeed in this endeavour.

I'm not a good Touhou player so there are many mistakes. What appear to be errors at the beginning of the final boss will seem mind-boggling because of the simplicity of the opening attacks, but I suddenly had an awful fit which made my eye sight all blurry and I couldn't see shit. I probably should've panicked then, but I didn't have too many lives then so I thought I might as well try finishing it properly.

I recorded my most successful attempt in Extra Mode on the same sitting but YouTube limits don't allow videos to exceed 11 minutes and I figured nobody wants to watch more than Touhou video in a row from me.

Anyway, I hope I'll have the opportunity to make some FF challenge vids in May, we'll see if it works out.

P.S. The sound is of bad quality because the sound card that is on this computer acts bizarre. I actually had to record sound by placing a microphone near the speaker because trying to record sound in any program (CamStudio, Camtasia Studio, fraps) resulted in a failure (fraps cannot even record PC-98). So if you think you hear somebody sighing quietly or cussing in an unknown language, that's me (since the mic is not too far from my head).
