Exploring Tertium. Seeking ceruleum in the Forum Solius with Jullus.

"Even during the coldest winters, we always found warmth and comfort at home."
-Jullus

-Testing a new audio set-up. Any feedback (too loud, too soft, worse than before, better than before, etc.) is much appreciated!

-At 20:33, I was confused about who told me others were coming, but in hindsight I see it was one one of the Tertium imperials we just spoke with hinting at this.

-I respect Quintus' compromise. He doesn't want to be in debt to the Empire's enemies, but recognizing his position, he gave us a way to help anyway. I also expect this decision functions as a test. Without an overt debt to be gained, will we still help?

-I know bits have been used plenty of times before in XIV, but the FFV boss I was thinking of that used them was Necrophobe. Was that their first introduction in the FF series?

-I'm torn on how much (if at all) the sightseeing point in Forum Solius contradicted Jullus. Jullus made it seem like Garlemald just valued parks for their own good, a communal space for a healthy community.

The description we read though showed it came specifically as a celebration of military conquest. It doesn't exactly contradict the facts of what Jullus said, but it does undermine the tone at least a little bit imo.

-I FRIGGING LOVE THIS WHOLE PARK SECTION! One of my favorite things personally, both in fiction and reality, is learning about the daily lives of people inside hostile nations and dystopias. It fascinates me to see the contrast between how wildly different states can be (like how North Korea is a tyrannical hellhole) but how at least to some degree, everyone shares common ground.

Whether in Garlemald or North Korea, teens still have to deal with awkward crushes, people still have favorite and least favorite foods that they eat at home, kids still enjoy the park.

-The light tone is a delight in this section. Jullus' shock as we dive into the vile frozen pond felt almost like slapstick.
