Moon. The Watcher. A beautiful doggo. Arriving at what's for me the literally most shocking trial in all of FFXIV.

"Cry havoc and let slip the dog of war! That's you, by the way."
-Alt Ququshu

-I can't get over the pace of this expansion and how utterly flabbergasted I was by the plot developments in this session.

"They're showing us the remaining seal of Zodiark and the Watcher wants to rebuild the remaining brands. That's gonna be our job for the next five levels aaaand nm, Zenos broke it."

"They're showing us Zodiark's image already! That's fast, but presumably we'll spend the next seven levels trying to stop him from breaking out before finally fighting him in the expansion's last trial aaaand nm, we're fighting him right now."

WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS EXPANSION GOING TO BE WITH SEVEN LEVELS OF MSQ TO GO???? I literally didn't believe it as it was happening. I thought the game was trolling me.

-The moon as an environment! The coldness, the stark beauty, the alabaster of the surface with the starry void above. Awe-inspiring art design.

-Speaking of art design, the Watcher's robe! White and blue-grey with starry flecks. Love it.

-Non-rhetorical question: pre-Endwalker, what was the canonical answer to what happens with an Ascian's soul when it's defeated by white auracite, as we did with Lahabrea, Emet-Selch, and Elidibus? Does it break apart? Stay embedded in that crystal?

I know they went over it at some point, but that was waaaay back when Moenbryda first brought in white auracite iirc. ...great, now I'm sad again thinking about Moenbryda.

-WHAT A GOOD DOGGO!!! What breed is the lustrous doggo supposed to be modeled on? I thought at first Lhasa Apso, but I Googled it afterwards and this dog's face is much different.

-All praise again for the translators' expansive archaic vocabulary, using the term "brand" for sword here. I wonder if the Japanese does the same thing, using archaic Japanese words so regularly.

-Good to meet Hythlodaeus again! Did we learn anything about his role in Ascian society beyond that he was a friend of Emet-Selch?

-I love Lunatenders! The ability name's joke ("La Vie en Epines") for anyone not familiar with Edith Piaf:

-"Cry havoc and let slip the dog of war! That's you, by the way." LOLOLOLOL

-No clue who that Familiar Stranger was, talking to/about Hades. Uneducated random guess: either Azem or Venat.
