Since we are now on Round 6 of my challenge, I thought it would be a good time share a quick thought about Street Fighter 6. In a nutshell, I'm apprehensive and excited at the same time. The art style is so realistic that I actually find it slightly off-putting. However, the rest of the aesthetic is welcome. The jazzy hip hop soundtrack and style of Street Fighter 3 are revolutionary, so I'm glad that Capcom decided to embraced very similar concepts for Street Fighter 6. Also, I'm glad that the characters of SF6 can finally have some personality with the facial expressions and taunting!
As we know, SF6 will not be available until 2023, so let's get back to SF5 for now. I really like the group of characters in this round. Each fighter is quirky and charismatic in their own way. I find it sad then, that if the leaked roster of SF6 is to be believed, the only fighter to return out of this bunch will be Blanka. DLC is almost a sure guarantee, so there will be ample opportunity for Capcom to roll in more characters down the line. Still, that means no Abigail, Menat, Zeku, or Sakura for the initial launch. I suppose I'll just learn to love the new characters.
