Final Burn Alpha arcade emulation - RetroPie - Raspberry Pi 4b 8GB | Rea vlog

Welcome to our channel, Pinoy-Irish husband | Rea vlog. Filipina Foreigner Husband Blog Philippines & Ireland.
My husband would like to share some retro games footage !!
Conor here ... This week we will have a look at some games on the Final Burn Alpha arcade machine. Emulation was performed via the lr-fbeno emulator on RetroPie, running on a Raspberry Pi 4b (8GB), recorded onto OBS at 25 frames a second, with 2xsal.glslp video shader applied. For controls I used a generic Xbox 360 style USB controller.
I originally got interested in FBA to play late 90s Capcom CPS2 games, although the latest iteration also works with Neo Geo, Konami, Taito, etc ... with now nearly 5000 games available to play on it, Final Burn Alpha is the ultimate one stop shop for all the classic arcade machines.
Please note that if some of videos here seem to slowdown, it is because of the 25 frame a second recording rather than the hardware struggling. When you play directly off the Pi 4 to a television all the games play FLAWLESSLY .... Also there seems to be an echo in the audio recording for some weird reason, I have only noticed now when I started making this video, apologies !!
# Street Fighter 3: Third Strike - I heard rumors about this on its release (1999) but the first time I actually played it was on the original XBOX few years back. Smooth colorful graphics & fast flowing animation make this a standout game, the large selection of characters is a welcome addition too.
# The Killing Blade - similar to SNK's Samurai Showdown weapons based combat, I like the Chinese folklore setting of this game.
# Street Fighter 2: Rainbow Edition - played this version in The Spot snooker club in Monagahan (1992). It is a hacked version of SF II: Champion Edition, with mid air special moves, homing Hadoukens, CPU change of character mid-match, etc ... apparently hackers in Taiwan switched some microchips on the arcade PCB to allow boss character selection & ended up with the whacky game play ! CAPCOM actually developed Street Fighter II Turbo in response to the Rainbow Edition ...
# Knights of Valour 2 - a side scrolling beat em up rip off of Warriors of Fate, I do like the extra effort put into the artwork & gameplay graphics.
# Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter - fast paced cross over fighting game, with over the top special moves & bright colorful graphics.
# Spectral vs Generation - Asian exclusive fighting game based on a fantasy RPG, I love the gothic Manga style graphics & epic special moves.
# Vampire Saviour - also known as Drak Stalkers, a fighting game based on monsters & ghosts. Good effort put into the art work & some of the special moves are very fun to watch.
# Martial Masters - great fighting game with impressive graphics and fluid animation very similar to Street Fighter 3, you can tell the designers put alot of effort into the artwork.
# Street Fighter Alpha 3 - I first played this in an arcade in Kuala Terengganu (2016) and was surprised by how difficult it was to beat the CPU player ! Very smooth animation & bright colorful graphics kept me pumping in the coins on this machine.
# Jo Jo Bizare Adventure - a fighting game based on the Japanese manga series, its like Street Fighter mixed with Dark Stalkers on acid ! Events seem to happen at random, special moves are the most eye catching I have ever seen, etc ...
# Alien vs Predator - great side scrolling beat em up, some nice special weapons available for pick up. If only the movies were this good !
