Final Fantasy 16-hours-of-cutscenes
Final Fantasy XVI contains a LOT of cutscenes. How many, exactly? It’s a little hard to calculate.

One YouTube channel, @glp edited all of the cutscenes into a movie that tips the scales at a whopping 20 hours. This runtime is inflated, though, because they also included a good amount of plot-related gameplay.
A different channel, @GamersPrey created an edit that only lasts around 17 hours. This one is almost entirely cutscenes and dialogue, but it still has SOME important gameplay moments.
I would estimate that Final Fantasy XVI has around 15 hours of hands-off time where the player just sits back and watches the story unfold.
Now, admittedly, it’s a pretty epic story. So, it may not bother you at all. But, if you’re more interested in gameplay, the amount of downtime will likely become a sore spot.
The combat is genuinely fun and engaging, and I think this game is quite good, but just know that you’ll spend almost half of your time in Final Fantasy XVI with your controller sitting idle in your hands.
