This is video #23 in my playthrough of Final Fantasy on the Nintendo GameBoy Advance. This game is part of the Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls compilation.

Previously, the party defeated the last remaining bosses in the Earthgift Shrine. Now, they will move on to the next Dawn of Souls dungeon, the Hellfire Chasm.
The entrance to the Hellfire Chasm can be found in the marsh in the Cardian Islands (time 0:30). It is south of the island where King Bahamut's Lair is. The entrance opens up when the party defeats Marilith in Mount Gulg and lights up the Fire Crystal.
The party heads in to floor B1 (time 0:55). This is one of many maps with plenty of lava to wade through. Watch the party's HP.
The party descends to floor B2 (time 2:34). Ah, a respite from the lava.
They continue down to floor B3 (time 4:15). This is an overworld-like map, but dashing is allowed. There is a desert spot where the party can claim an airship. You may have to talk to Thule the pirate first before you can get it.
The party goes down to floor B4 (time 9:48). More lovely lava waits on this map.
The party harvests another Silver Apple here (time 14:09).
After a battle, the party reaches Level 52 (time 14:42).
The party descends to floor B5 (time 15:52). This is the first of two boss rooms.
In the northern room, the party challenges Scarmigilione, the elemental archfiend of earth from Final Fantasy IV (time 16:00). His arsenal includes the Thunder spell.
As in Final Fantasy IV, Scarmiglione rises from the dead to challenge the party in a second form (time 17:37). Look out for the nasty Poison Gas attack. When he is truly dead, Scarmiglione drops a Lunar Curtain. Afterwards, the party can choose to continue on or leave the dungeon.
The party continues downstairs to floor B6 (time 19:25).
They descend to floor B7 (time 22:31). In this map, the heat alone will sap the party's HP unless they are standing on the gray tiles. I'm glad they were sparing with maps like this. The bats that impede the party's progress are annoying.
The party keeps going to floor B8 (time 25:45). This map is a lava-filled maze.
They go down to floor B9 (time 28:02). This is one of the worst maps in the entire game. The corridors are filled with rude NPCs that move on set paths and impede the party's progress. The sparkling floor tiles have enemy encounters each step.
The party randomly finds a Soma Drop (time 34:06). This raises a party member's max MP by 5 permanently.
Finally, the party reaches floor B10 (time 37:19). This is the second and last boss floor in this dungeon.
In the southeast room, the party battles Barbariccia, the elemental archfiend of wind from Final Fantasy IV (time 37:33). She delivers fast, powerful attacks. Look out for Ray, which can stone an ally. Fortunately, her cyclone does not drop the party to critical HP levels; it just does a lot of damage. Upon her defeat, she drops the Braveheart sword.
The party leaves the dungeon (time 39:50). Next time, they will reexplore the Hellfire Chasm to deal with the other two bosses.
Thanks for watching!
