This is video #08 in my playthrough of Final Fantasy II on the Nintendo GameBoy Advance. This game is part of the Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls compilation.

Previously, the party explored the Snow Cavern. They found the Goddess's Bell, but sadly Josef was lost to Borghen's death trap. They have made their way back to Salamand.

They revisit Salamand to get the townspeople's reactions to Josef's death. Poor Nelly.

The party leaves Salamand (time 1:48). Kashuan is to the southeast past Bafsk.

They make a rest stop in Bafsk (time 5:26).

South of Bafsk, Kashuan is partially ringed in by mountain ranges. Be careful not to go too far south into the Palamecian Desert, as the monsters there are powerful for this stage of the game.

The party finally reaches Kashuan Keep (time 9:21). They arrive on floor 1F of the castle. The Sunfire burns openly in the entrance hall, but the party has nothing to take it.

The party uses the Goddess's bell at the northern door (time 10:10). They pass through to floor 2F.

And who do they meet but Prince Gordon (time 10:29)! He came to get the Sunfire, but he can't make his way to Egil's Torch on his own. Vowing to fight, he joins the party. Gordon joins with a spear, and this is not a bad weapon to put on him. He is at level 2 with all weapon masteries.

To the east, the party descends to floor 1F again (time 12:14).

In the southeast, a chest contains a Cure Tome (time 12:18). Also not bad for Gordon.

In the southwest, the party goes upstairs to floor 2F (time 14:10). Look out for the Adamantoise. One of the bosses of the previous dungeon roams the halls of this ruined keep as a normal monster. Also, be careful of Wererats. They can inflict a lingering poison that remains after the battle is over. Esuna can staunch it even at Level 1.

In the northeast, a chest contains 500 gil (time 16:43).

The party goes upstairs to floor 3F (time 17:40).

In the southwest, a chest contains a Golden Shield (time 18:18). It also has a monster-in-a-box encounter with some Wererats. Fittingly, this shield protects against poison.

In the northeast, the party ascends to floor 4F (time 19:47).

In the central chamber complex, the party goes through the western door (time 20:50). The chests within contain a Mythril Axe (time 20:52), a Werebuster (time 21:47), and a Mythril Sword. Too bad I didn't realize the Werebuster is a mace.

Along the western hall, the party goes upstairs to floor 5F (time 22:36).

The party enters the northeast room (time 23:29). The chests within contain a Mallet, an Antidote, and Eye Drops.

In the central area of 5F, a chest contains a Golden Armor (time 24:56). There is also a monster-in-a-box: a group of Mines.

In the southwest, the party goes downstairs to floor 4F (time 26:42).

In the nearby room, they find a monster in their way (time 27:53). It is a Red Soul. It is pretty tough, and you don't want to use elemental magic against it. Look out for its attack spells.

After the battle, the party opens the chest to claim Egil's Torch (time 30:01).

They evacuate the castle with Teleport (time 30:29). Then, they go back inside (time 30:42).

In the entrance hall, they use Egil's Torch at the Sunfire (time 31:10).

Next time, the party will report in to Hilda in Altair.

Thanks for watching!

This video is part of my Final Fantasy II playthrough. I am playing the version of the game released in the Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls compilation for the Nintendo GameBoy Advance in 2004.
