Part: 5 of 5
Time to handle the remaining fiends in reverse order and make the final trek through the Temple of Fiends so that we can finally put a stop to the time loop that caused a thing to happen because of another thing 200 or maybe 2,000 years ago or something. Is our team of four Knights up to the task? You never know in this game...you just really never know. Some highlights:
11 minutes - Wow. Nobody was touched by Kraken, just in like my last playthrough. Ink, you stink!
16 minutes, 30 seconds - These lava tiles cause 1HP worth of damage to your entire team per step. Which is great! I would much rather take 1HP worth of damage over a random encounter that takes forever and causes even more damage, and it turns out that there are no random encounters on these tiles. Therefore I stick to walking on them when I can. As an added bonus, it makes a sound that sounds like it came from The Guardian Legend for the NES.
29 minutes - These bottom volcano tiles do nothing I guess. It kind of makes sense because it looks like the first volcano area is supposed to indicate that you entered through the top of the volcano anyways.
32 minutes, 30 seconds - Here's a fun example of how all of your enemies can run away, leaving behind an amazing 1 point of experience and zero GP. It's also important to note that a team of four Knights have no means of exiting the final dungeon since they cannot use the WARP or EXIT spells and there's no way to walk out.
1 hour, 18 minutes, 30 seconds - Tiamat wasn't happy about that last encounter so revenge was served. Bane worked even with the ProRing equipped. Why? Maybe because it's poison elemental or because Oink didn't have a ribbon equipped? I'm curious if there was anything I could have done here.
1 hour, 21 minutes, 30 seconds - There are no random encounters on the final floor of this dungeon. Might as well look around!
1 hour, 24 minutes, 30 seconds - Why does this happen? Chaos randomly takes like no damage at times for no discernible reason. Was it just bad rolls? 1HP per hit vs over a hundred though? I don't understand what causes him to take so little damage at times. Despite pretty high levels this was a tense battle. I started out with three people, fortunately the CRACK spell missed, he managed to stun the person with the Masmune, and he started taking pretty much zero damage for some reason. I think his next spell was CUR4 too. Close call and a good finale once again.
