Final Fantasy I | Part 7: Tiamat's Clash at the Flying Fortress
Three fiends have bit the dust. Now it's time we head for the Flying Fortress.
To even reach the Flying Fortress, you have to go through the Mirage Tower. Not easy, I know. But don't let reaching it fool you. Because the sooner you reach the Flying Fortress, that's when things get ugly. You'll have to deal with machines including a hidden super boss that will wipe you out. Sadly you won't see it here because of how annoying it is to even counter it. Let me explain.
If you want to know what I mean, watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2o45u37HpQ
I speak of the Warmech. He has 2000 HP and can wipe out your entire party if you are sloppy. Though if you get a preemptive strike, take full advantage of buffing your party. Using magic like Protera, Invisira, Temper and Haste are going to be needed. The Giant's Gloves will help too for your physical units. Have your Wizards focus on healing and buffing and your Knight, Ninja or Master to attack. The Warmech can recover 200 HP every turn so if you deal heavy damage, he goes down. If you are lucky, you can get the best armor in the game, the Genji Armor.
As for Tiamat, the same strategy applies except you won't get a preemptive strike. Buff first then go on the offense. Bear in mind that Tiamat will resist all elements so you are going to have to strike hard and fast. Once Tiamat falls, the Wind Crystal regains it's light. But where will you go from here?
If you saw earlier, turns out that energy from each of the four temples lead to a source. The same place where we took Garland down. Yep. We also give the Adamantite to the dwarves so that we can get Excalibur.
See you in the finale.
