Final Fantasy V has a bit of an unfortunate position. It is stuck between the glorious Final Fantasy VI (which happens to be one of my favourite games of all time), and the amazingly remade Final Fantasy IV. So when trying to find a nice image to use from this fantastic game for the video, it was a bit of a struggle. So I thought about ways I could change the style of the video itself. I've been wanting to display sheet music in a video for a while now, and after hours of trial and error, fixing minor details and general moments of frustration, I'm really happy with the end result. I remember noticing a similar kind of thing on the videos of the brilliant Marc Papeghin which was the thing that initially triggered the idea.

But it feels strange to spend the first half of the description talking about the video on what is a music channel!

I spent a while working on a different piece and wondered what could be done just by focusing on simple instruments and establishing a sense of space within the music. That thought immediately led me to 'Lenna's Theme' from FFV. I figured it would be a great piece to try and create this feeling of depth and openness. Key to this idea was using the flute and piano as the real core of the arrangement to give it that soft but glimmering fee of warmth. Mainly because it relates to Lenna herself in Final Fantasy 5; a kind and caring character who willingly puts others first, even at the expense of her own life. I have included sheet music for the flute and piano part of the arrangement below. More than happy to provide sheet music for the entire arrangement if requested.
