Hey everyone! It’s been a whole year since I first uploaded my original arrangement of Morphogenetic Sorrow. I’ve known for months that I wanted to do another one – maybe it could be a yearly thing! I’ve wanted to do this for two reasons: the first one is that I’m always trying to learn new skills when making music and I love the idea of looking back and seeing how far I’ve come with creating music. The other reason is because this was the first arrangement I ever uploaded to YouTube, so I wanted to do this as a thank you for all the support I’ve gotten over the past year! I’m really grateful and know I will keep this going for as long as possible. After around mid next year, I'll also have more time to do this properly too!
Also sorry for the delay in uploading! I’ve been busy with my final year of University as well as working on other things – it’s the 30th Anniversary of Final Fantasy this year and I’ve been working on something related to it as a tribute to one of my favourite franchises of all time.
But on to the music! This arrangement is inspired by all three main versions of the theme which can be heard in all 3 games in the Zero Escape Series: 999, Virtues Last Reward and Zero Time Dilemma. But, I had quite a clear vision of where I wanted the arrangement to go months ago when I first thought of doing it. I wanted to create the same feelings I felt when playing all three games the first time. As a result, it surprisingly didn’t take much planning to create. I spent time improvising different rhythms with different instrument parts (especially piano) to try and create a narrative for a series of games I really love. It’s the kind of series that shouldn’t be lost in time. It deserves so much more!
Thanks as always for watching!!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
