I've been wanting to make an arrangement of this for such a long time now! It is one of my favourite boss themes in the entire Final Fantasy franchise as a whole.

As a child, I played Final Fantasy 7 ALOT, but surprisingly I never actually got to the very end until a few years ago when I decided to replay it for about a 5th time. So that was when I heard this piece for the first time in-game. There are two different pieces based on JENOVA heard during the game: The first is simply entitled 'J.E.N.O.V.A' and is heard multiple times during the game. The second is 'JENOVA Complete'.Complete is only heard at the very end of the game when battling JENOVA's true form. At 2:02, the change in motif is actually inspired by the first 'J.E.N.O.V.A' theme.

Going into making the arrangement, I knew exactly what I wanted it to sound like. Heavy percussion and some less common used instrument techniques to really add character to the piece. I personally play the trombone so I knew I wanted to include some trombone flutters especially. Other key techniques I wanted to include were violin runs and french horn rips. Other than that, my main aim was to make sure it sounded as powerful and striking as possible to reflect the original.

Some other news. Due to slightly annoying changes to YouTubes policy, this channel will no longer receive ad revenue and all that jazz. I'll need to reach 1000subscribers for that - so it does provide a lot of motivation to be fair! But because I'll need to gain revenue from some source to improve my music and I'm reaching my limit on the amount of free downloads I can provide on Bandcamp, I will have to gradually begin charging for bandcamp downloads sadly (although only £1/ $1 per purchase). I of course will only do this for future uploads though, starting from this one, as it would be unfair to start charging for things that were free in the past.
