It pays to talk to everybody! Especially if you see one of those thief/robber sprites. They're the ones that let you know about the optional scenarios in the game. Well, technically a lot of the second half of the game is optional. But there's optional... and then there's really optional, like letting yourself get inhaled by a random monsters. Anyway, if you go to Thamasa, the thief/robber guy there will tell you about a triangular island Northeast of the Veldt. There's a particular monster there that will inhale your entire party. He wonders what happens when you get sucked in, but he doesn't actually want to find out. We do though, because... reasons.

If this isn't your first FF6 rodeo, you know that our final optional character, Gogo the Mimic, can be recruited in the weird mini-dungeon that exists in the belly of a 'Zone Eater'. This monster can only be found on Triangle Island, located Northeast of the Veldt and really the most Northeastern landmass on the map. Not much is known about Gogo. Are they male or female? Are they human? But they definitely make a great addition to the team, as they can perform any ability of any member of the party, even if they're not in your immediate group! Definitely worth getting inhaled, right? ...Right?

Anyway, to pick up this weirdo, I thought the best party would be the non-human members of the group: Mog the Moogle and Umaro the Yeti. I believe that there's no random encounters in the Zone Eater's belly, but just in case, I slapped on Molulu's Charm on Mog, so I could roam free. You'll have to go through two screens that will require some timing-related skills. In the first, you'll have to jump from bridge to bridge while avoiding the green guys, who can knock you to the floor below. You'll want to get knocked down at least once, as there are two treasures that are otherwise inaccessible: a Hi-Ether and a Red Jacket. On the floor with the bridges there's some good treasures too: Fake Moustache, Magical Brush and Genji Armor. It's worth it to get'em all. I apologize, but I'm not that stellar at this part and got knocked down a couple times.

The next floor can be a pain. As you try to make your way to the other side, the ceiling will eventually come down quickly and crush you violently if you're not careful. If the ceiling crushes you, it's GAME OVER, so be careful. There's a couple treasures on this floor, but the only one really worth getting is the last one: the Pinwheel, a throwable item for Shadow. The last screen is fairly simple and not much to it. The treasure is a Thunder Shield, which you should have at least one already, so it's up to you if it's worth getting. You'll make your way to a door, which will lead to the final room.

When you enter, you'll see Gogo the Mimic just chilling there like it's a totally normal place to be. I believe these are the only lines of dialogue Gogo has, so enjoy them. Strangely, they inform you that it's been long, long time since anyone has visited (The green guys maybe?). Gogo seems kinda interested in tagging along and mimicking you and is sold once they learn that you're trying to save the world.
