This is officially the last video I'm going to do before doing massive off-screen grinding to level up my party. I was able to go most of the game without any frivolous grinding and any off-screen level grinding. And it's wholly possible that I could get through Kefka's Tower with the way my party is now (Maybe! I'd have to put Mog (with Molulu's Charm) in a party by himself and then divide up the Dream Team among the other two parties, but it's possible!), but the part that I sincerely can't beat the way things are now is the quests for the new Espers that are included in the GBA version of this game. So I'm going to beat Deathgaze (I liked Doom Gaze better) now, since he's not that tough and then the next time you'll see my party, they'll be much stronger.

Anyway, who or what is Deathgaze? Villagers the world over have spoken of a flying monstrosity that was unleashed during the cataclysm: Deathgaze. This creature can only be encountered while in-flight on the Falcon, and the actual chances of running into it are actually pretty low; finding it will require a lot of time and patience -- especially since it will sometimes flee from battle. (Luckily any damage inflicted on it is permanent.)

Deathgaze is mentioned about three times in the game by people in random towns. In one of the first towns you go to once you're in the World of Ruin, an old man will say that when the world was ripped apart many long-sealed monsters were released, including Deathgaze. Another person mentions how they'd rather take an acid bath rather than fight it lol. Then curiously, another person will let you know that Deathgaze can't restore his HP after battle (not sure how he would know that since I have the only airship lol). I think a fourth person indirectly mentions him by saying they saw something flying through the sky, clutching something shiny in its jaws (the Bahamut Magicite).

You don't actually run into Deathgaze randomly. Supposedly, he's somewhere on the world map, invisible and if you'll fight him if you fly into him. A trick I use to find him relatively quickly:

Land the airship somewhere and then get back on, it will now be facing North. Slightly tilt to the left or right and begin flying. You'll wrap around the world map continuously, but tilting ever so slightly in one direction, so you'll eventually hit every spot on the map. Deathgaze has an HP of 55,555 and will cast Lv. 5 Death at the start of the battle. I was able to beat him in two fights and was rewarded with the Bahamut Magicite, which teaches you 'Flare' and has a crazy +50% HP level-up bonus!
