In the last chapter, a whole lot went down as we finally reached Damcyan. It was barely within our sights, when the Red Wings came flying by and carpet bombed the Kingdom. Unfortunately for Tellah, his instincts were right and we were too late to save his daughter, Anna. We learned that the Red Wings have a new captain, the mysterious Golbez, who led the attack on Damcyan and stole their crystal. Tellah vowed to kill Golbez himself and left the party. That sucks. His magic was really strong. But I'm sure we'll get another character to join the party and I'm sure they'll be just as useful. Prince Edward the Bard, you say? What's his ability? Hiding?!? Tellah, come back! Oh wait, you have a hovercraft? Ok, we'll give you a try...

Anyway, there was no time to complain. We made a bee line for the antlion cave in order to get the Sand Ruby to cure Rosa's Desert Fever. According to Edward, antlion's are usually quite tame. But this one wasn't! Thankfully, the Antlion boss is not challenging at all. But it's curious how monsters have suddenly become more aggressive, hmm? With Sand Ruby in hand, we hovercraft-ed it up back to Kaipo and Cecil was able to cure his bae. Now Rosa joins the party and it's up to us to warn Fabul, the next kingdom with a crystal, that an attack by Baron is imminent.

CHAPTER 5 - THE HIGH MONK OF FABUL

To get to Fabul, we have to take the hovercraft and hover it back to the shallows Northeast of Damcyan. We have to cross Mt. Hobs, but a block of ice is acting as a literal roadblock. Only Rydia the Summoner can perform the Fire spell, but she's understandably apprehensive about it considering the last time she saw some fire... But there's really no other options here, so after a pep talk, Rydia learns Fire and melts the large block of ice. Fire is a good spell to use here, as some of the undead monsters seem to be fairly weak against it. You'll also want to equip Rosa with the 'Holy' arrows for the same reason. Rosa is kinda weak offensively most of the time, but she'll be pretty useful in this area. Use her 'Aim' technique to ensure a hit, albeit it takes a moment or two more.

It's impossible to get lost here. After a screen or two, you'll come across Yang, the High Monk of Fabul, facing off against a slew of monsters. He's able to kill off most by himself, but there's still a bomb monster left. It doesn't appear to be a normal bomb, so we decide to lend a hand. It's definitely not a normal bomb. It's a 'Mom Bomb'. You're going to want to pummel it with attacks from Cecil and Yang. Have Rydia cast Blizzard and either attack normally with Rosa or use her Aim ability. You can Edward attack, but his Heal ability is good for topping off everyone's HP. Mom Bomb will transform eventually and then explode, leaving behind several smaller bombs. Take your time and keep everyone's health up, as you definitely want everyone to get EXP.

After the fight, it's a quick screen to finish descending Mt. Hobs on the other side. Then head East until you find the Fabul Castle. There's barely any time to warn the King, when an impending attack by Baron is announced. Cecil, Edward and Yang will face off against a couple of Baron's soldiers. If you can, you'll want to kill the captain first, before killing the two soldiers. It's not necessary, but if you kill the soldiers first, the captain will retreat and you get more EXP for beating everyone. You'll keep retreating further and further inside (not sure why, seemed like we could've handled it) until we get to the vault room with the crystal. What's going to happen?!? You'll just have to see for yourself.
