Final Fantasy VII (Lowest Turn Count) Ep. 6 - Reno
7Initially my math was telling me I could do this in 7 turns with grenades, but upon testing, it turns out grenades do slightly less damage to Reno than I had anticipated and it actually took 1 extra turn. However...
Reno can also be poisoned. When planning ahead for Reno, I had anticipated it taking slighty more turns than grenades to use poison because I would need to break pyramids. And this is true had it not been for one complete oversight. Deadly waste targets ALL enemies. And thus, I can break 2 of them with a single deadly waste. I didn't anticipate this based solely on where the pyramids were located. Almost like a pseudo pincer attack. But it actually just hits every one.
For this fight we need 3 attacks. Deadly waste will both poison Reno and clear the opening pyramid. After that it depends on how the pyramids land. If Cloud gets trapped in a pyramid early, we will need to use a turn to release him. Then he will clear the last 2 pyramids right before Reno uses another.
If Tifa and Barret get trapped, cloud can use Ice all to save them both for the 2nd attack and then the 3rd attack will be a grenade to speed up the damage, alternatively I have to heal and wait longer. I've had both paths happen.
