Who was the first Final Fantasy summon? Well, the concept was introduced in Final Fantasy 3, but some of those allies had already appeared in earlier games. Chocobos showed up in Final Fantasy 2, but Bahamut has been around since the beginning.

The King of Dragons has been an ally to the party since Final Fantasy 1, and this video quickly dives into why. He’s tested the party’s strength in many of the mainline games, but it all started with Final Fantasy 1.

The first Final Fantasy is available pretty much everywhere. The most recent iteration is Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, PC, iOS, and Android. As of the time of this short, the most recent entry in the series is Final Fantasy XVI, a PlayStation 5 exclusive.
