The first map that I found to be fairly tough. The east of the map has both dangerous staff users and dangerous enemy placement to mess with the player. Xander being forced in a fixed class helps a good deal with the completion of the chapter, but doesn't quite solo the map (and if we start soloing map with Xander we'll shortly find the runthrough impossible to complete anyway).

Corrin reached lv. 20 when the previous map ended, and then it would be decided if he would level up again to lv. 21 in a DLC class (one out of six possible) or get a regular unpromoted class, at which point it would be natural for me to decide what I want him to be in the next map.

This was the RNG for this chapter:

Benched: Gunter, Effie, Beruka, Charlotte, Silas, Niles, Keaton, Camilla, Kaze, Benny, Odin
Corrin 2/24 - Oni Savage
Azura 20/22 - Witch
Arthur 3/23 - Spear Fighter
Felicia 8/31 - Priestess
Laslow 2/23 - Oni Savage
Elise 21/21 - Great Lord
Leo 32/33 - Lodestar
Nyx 9/21 - Apothecary
Mozu 7/21 - Archer
Selena 20/21 - Witch
Peri 12/21 - Fighter
Jakob 31/33 - Grandmaster

Corrin got Oni Savage, meaning no extra phantom level in a DLC class. If I'd let Gunter level up some more in his place last map, he could've maybe learnt Seal Resistance (meh) before promoting here. I opted for Blacksmith because of sword access, allowing me to use Levin Swords for 1-2 range alongside skills boosting the damage. He acted as a support unit most of the map with his personal skill and didn't do a whole lot though.

Azura and Selena were the witches that I got here. No chance of reaching Warp with either, but Witch gives any girl good 1-2 range, even without an existing magic base. Azura was the one with the much better magic score (after all that Troubadour levelling) while Selena was surprisingly bulky having spent time as Fighter and Knight before. I relied on both a good bit.

Having Felicia as a Priestess (with Warp no less) gave me an effective healer who could appear in almost any corner of the map to rejuvenate an ally or provide some other form of utility (like transportation of units). She learnt Renewal but not Magic Counter, but I didn't mind that too much. Quicker levelling for other lv. 15 promoted skills later on.

Other characters enjoyed reclasses for acquisition of good skills. The lv. 10 Archer skill is one of the best around and Mozu was lucky to get it here. +4 damage on PP got her unbelievably close to OHKOing Fighters (!). Will surely be used to great effect as Mozu seems like one of our better units whenever she's around. Elise enjoys Great Lord access for this map as two level-ups give her Charm. Charm combos with her personal skill to give +3 atk/+3 def to adjacent allies, making her the best aura user in the party. And I guess Peri likes having Fighter for one map for HP+5? Bulk has never been her forte, in spite of her offensive stats being quite good.

Jakob joined before the chapter, for some reason at a level higher than normal (lv. 16 instead of lv. 13). This meant he already had Butler's Tomebreaker skill. While it seems good in paper, he couldn't do a whole lot to Sorcs on this map, not 2HKOing the Dark Mages either, while they could still 20-30ish accurate attacks on him. Grandmaster meant I could slow down and feed him 4 levels worth of kills for Rally Spectrum (with its impressive 4-tile range rallying) but that would mean depriving everybody else of attention. He did get the first Grandmaster skill while simply chipping away at things for others to kill.

Leo also returned with a reclass, Lodestar fixing his poor speed but not giving him any combat prowess due to his poor physical stats. A level up would get him Lodestar's +3 spd/-1 def skill, which seems really good for when Leo gets a tome reclass, but he levels too slowly to justify the investment. He mostly weakened enemies for others to kill here.

I decided to take the left-hand path first so that I'd tackle the more challenging right one with better stats, which I sorta regret now because it's the RHS that you can more easily mess up on (the waves of aggressive enemies come more persistently from the left though, so it makes sense to defend against them there though). I messed up and allowed somebody to die on some of my attempts because after spending 15 or so minutes on the other side of the map I couldn't experiment in fear of losing my progress and having to restart.
