Bravely Second - 0 Exp Run+ Part 20: Vucub Caquix, Nikolai, Khamer, Anchorites
The remainder of chapter 3 boss battles. With the autumn rolling in, my upload rate has noticeably slowed down, as many may have noticed, and so has my video production to a lesser extent. This lengthy video should please those who've been waiting for more than half a month for another Bravely Second low-level challenge episode.

03:28 Nikolai
11:29 Khamer
17:45 Anchorite of Death
18:46 Anchorite of Light
Vucub Caquix was a major highlight in this run and had been owning me hard before a successful strategy was figured out. Elemental absorption on this thing was a huge hurdle as I rely on elemental magic for all of my attacking in this challenge, with non-elemental spells being very lacklustre until Khamer's defeat.
The Patissier skillset really shines here, as I rely on farmed ingredients to weaken the boss to fire and debuff him - this enables me to not only pierce his resistance but also deal absurd damage with Summon Rain. The defensive tactics previously showcased in my videos are applicable here too, but when the boss buffs himself up, tanking becomes largely ineffective. Luckily, the boss should be dying at about this point - the turns it's wasted buffing up and changing forms were turns we used to great effect to deal large amounts of damage to its HP.
Note that I had to replace a 3rd attacker with a 2nd support unit for this fight, as I needed both Calm support on the 1st turn (the boss needs to be debuffed) and for Blessing Mist to be set on the party before anyone dies. The tank couldn't combine two kinds of utility in one since the Patissier secondary is mandatory to deal damage here.
Nikolai was fought with the same exact setup as last battle. His minions do nothing to us, but Nik himself is a moderate threat due to Lightning spells. Some form of elemental/magical reflection or absorption is necessary here, and of course a wielder of Spellcraft should cast it on the whole party. Because Nikolai is revived after dying once, this battle can be quite long.
Dark Knight vs. Time Mage is the last choice we have to make in terms of disputes between old asterisk bearers. Time Mage is the obvious choice, since magic is dominating this run and Meteor is the best possible damage output we can have.
The fight against Khamer itself is a very interesting one. Besides the usual tanking business, we have to worry about Stop spells, non-elemental magic that ignores Reflect and other concerns connected to keeping the party functional. At the start we are partially vulnerable to Stop, because Yew uses up his BP first to use Calm on the 1st turn and then set up Blessing Mist, with no room for Reflect. Tiz continues tanking and running Patissier skills, debilitating the boss to the earth element - after we've set up Reflect on the party, there's a chance he can hit himself super-effectively with his own spell.
Much like in the Nikolai battle, Hammer is preferred over Rain so that we can strike the boss and not the minions around him, which are again harmless to us with the tank setup.
Tiz wears both physically and magically resistant gear against Khamer in case unreflectable magic hits the entire party. Blessing Mist then keeps alive anyone else who's been downed.
I've also included the two Anchorite battles in this video. The summons we get out of them are inferior to the offensive summons we've been using prior to obtaining Meteor, but for completion's sake why not get them? The first Anchorite battle ends on the 1st turn thanks to Meteor Rain, while the second lasts a little longer - I have to use Dart Spellcraft over Rain in conjunction with Meteor for its priority - it's just sufficient to end the battle before the party gets hit by an inescapable nuke.
