With the thieves driven out, Byleth, Dimitri, and the Blue Lions students are back at Garreg Mach Monastery, along with almost every student that Byleth has recruited before the war started. A lot has changed throughout five years, and the Church of Seiros is in ruins, and we can't do anything about Dimitri yet, as he cares more about killing troops from the Imperial Army.

As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description

Five years have past since the battle at Garreg Mach Monastery, and all students have changed their appearances, and the members of the Church of Seiros haven't changed one bit, except for Cyril.
While we did hear about Dedue's fate in the previous part, we wonder if he really is dead, because Dedue can have A Support conversations, so this could mean that he returns at a later point, so he might not be dead after all, and we also notice that Lorenz is missing from the list of recruited units, even though I did recruit him before the timeskip.
At part 2, Byleth cannot C Support with some units, because if you haven't done so, you have missed your chance, and there are some support conversations that are locked, one example is Ingrid and Annette's C Support, and I believe that Ashe and Marianne's C Support is also locked to the first part of the game, and one other thing is both Caspar and Ferdinand's B Support with Byleth is locked to after the timeskip, so you will need to train Byleth's Brawl and Heavy Armor skills to recruit them, and Ferdinand is considered to be one of the hardest units to recruit outside of the Black Eagles.
One thing to go over is Dimitri during this point in the game, he cannot take part in tutors and activities, and he cannot do any support conversations during this point because of his unstable attitude, which does hint that Dimitri can go back to normal at a later point, but for now, he cannot take part in support conversations, and we do unlock some A Supports with Byleth and a few units.
I could go over Dimitri's High Lord class, this class specializes in Swords, Lances, and Authority, and its high Charm stat can make Dimitri a great Gambit user, specially against Demonic Beasts and other powerful foes. When Dimitri masters that class, he learns a skill called Pomp & Circumstance, which boosts Luck and Charm by 4, and that does make Dimitri a very powerful unit in battle, specially with his Battalion Wrath and Battalion Vantage skills, which he can learn if you level up his Authority Rank to around A Rank.
Gilbert has some supply quests, you have to gather two supplies at random, those are usually obtained through fishing, greenhouse, and other things, it's surprising to see our plants last for 5 years, when you have gathered them, talk to Gilbert to complete the quest, he gives them out every month on this route, and if ever Byleth's birthday is on that month, you receive a letter from Gilbert instead of Dimitri.
By the fishing pond, a soldier will give you a quest where you have to catch a certain fish, it will have a purple silhouette, if you catch that fish, that is quest complete. Two people in the entrance hall give you battle quests. A man at the Marketplace gives you a quest, the Cornerstone Fragment is at the Cathedral near the ruins, return to him to complete the quest.
I could go over Gilbert as a unit, he is exclusive to the Azure Moon route, and he joins in the timeskip, so he's supposed to be Dedue's replacement. Gilbert's Personal Ability is Veteran Knight, where he will take 2 less damage when in formation with a Battalion. Like Dedue, Gilbert is a defensive unit, and while Dedue can go into Fortress Knight, he is more preferred as a Grappler. With Gilbert, you can downgrade him into Brigand to get Death Blow, and Armored Knight to get Armored Blow, or Cavalier to get Desperation. He has skill strengths in Lance, Axe, Heavy Armor, and Riding, so his likely class will be Great Knight, and like Ferdinand, Leonie, and Ingrid, Gilbert has no skill weaknesses, and I don't recommend going with any magic classes, as Gilbert has low Magic, and he doesn't get that many spells. He has low Res, so he is not that great against magic users, and he starts with very low Speed, but you could promote him to Paladin to fix his Speed a bit, or you could work on his Flying skill and go for Wyvern Rider, and eventually Wyvern Lord to give him some extra Speed, or work on his Brawl skill for War Master to get Quick Riposte. While Gilbert is a great physical wall, he needs to be kept away from magic attacks, if you invest in some training, Gilbert can be a unit that no physical unit can get through.
As this is the Blue Lions route, or Azure Moon, I won't go too far into spoilers on the other routes, but for names, the Golden Deer route is Verdant Wind, the Black Eagles route if you side with Edelgard is Crimson Flower, and the Black Eagles route if you side with the Church is Silver Snow.
