8In this video I show you how to fix can’t follow people on TikTok error. One reason why you might not be able to follow people on TikTok is because of an issue with your cached data on TikTok. Fortunately, you can clear your TikTok cache through the Settings by accessing the Free Up Space option. On this page you can choose to clear your cache, and clear your downloads. After clearing your cache it’s a good idea to close the TikTok app and reopen it.
Another possible solution is to switch from your Wi-Fi to your cellular network, or switch from your cellular network to your Wi-Fi. Before switching your connection you will want to close TikTok. Once done you can reopen TikTok and attempt to follow someone to see if the issue is fixed.
If you still can’t follow people on TikTok then another solution is to turn on aeroplane mode, leave it on for a few moments, then turn it back off. This can fix the issue by essentially resetting the network connections on your phone.
Additionally, you can also try checking the Apple App Store or Google Play Store for a TikTok update. To do this you will need to find the TikTok app page and check if there is an update. If there is then you will need to start the update and wait for TikTok to be updated. Once done you can reopen the newly updated app and check if the issue is fixed.
If you have multiple TikTok accounts then you can try switching accounts then switching back. This can be done quickly by going to your profile and tapping on your name at the top. This will give you the option to switch to another one of your TikTok accounts that you are signed into. Once done you can repeat the process to switch back to the account that you’re having issues following people on.
Another reason why you might be unable to follow people on TikTok is because your account has some limitations. Typically, this will happen if you are using a new account, have followed too many people in a short period of time. In some instances you may also be unable to follow people because you have made too many interactions recently. If these are the reason why you can’t follow people on TikTok then you will need to wait for the issue to be fixed. Typically, this will only be a few hours.
If you want to follow someone on TikTok but have to wait then you can copy their profile link and paste it in your notes app or somewhere you can access it later. This will allow you to find the profile again quickly when you are able to follow people.
