Here is Supplement 3, covering version differences and other points of interests in Requests 12 to 18. Like the previous supplement, this video is comprised of newly-recorded footage and clips taken from the original request videos. The bottom DS screen is omitted whenever it wasn't necessary.
For a full breakdown of the version differences, see the guide at the top. Here are some miscellaneous notes:
This supplement shows a number of music differences. The opening theme on PS2 is Anata no Tameni, which was changed on DS. However, several pieces of music on PS2 used Anata no Tameni’s theme, so these tracks were altered or replaced on DS as a result, and most of these changes can be found in this video.
Request 12 (0:00)
Original video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYEpEFMGhFk
You can save mid-request on DS, not on PS2, so I showed the continue screen. I included snippets of the conversation with Edo and the special agents to show the subtle differences in how the characters are facing each other.
Request 13 (7:41)
Original video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUa0aDTZhN8
Request 14 (10:05)
Original video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzPJarIg188
I could not get the extra line on DS. If anyone manages to get that line on DS, let me know.
Request 15 (18:53)
Original video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yE82XhmgP4w
I show another continue screen because this one has Sue. I show the Edo L&F scene before Sue’s to show how similar they are. All of the scarecrows in the maze use the same Silver Case sound effect. For some reason, my PS2 emulator crashes on that specific text box in the Step maze, but I at least wanted to show that text and how the maze loops even with the crash.
Request 16 (24:14)
Original video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iihepex9QYI
I included a small interaction with Lady Ritz that I neglected to show before. Sue’s L&F dialogue in R16 is also used in R17 with no changes. I included Lady Ritz coming out the pool because it doesn’t even look like she’s coming out of water on DS; it’s kind of silly.
The full length of the camera motion during the Lady Ritz conversation is fairly long on PS2. Here is the full unedited video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkVseeO8Km4
Request 17 (27:16)
Original video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUlqqoWS1hE
I included the nurse disappearing because I thought I did in the original request, but it turns out I didn’t; I must have been thinking of a different recording attempt.
The full length of the camera motion during the Tokio scene is absurdly long, even compared to the zoom in R16. The full unedited scene is in same video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkVseeO8Km4
Request 18 (30:10)
Original video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otWHaxmtqYY
More so than the previous requests, I strongly recommend looking at the guide (https://www.speedrun.com/fsr/guide/m654m) as there is a lot here.
I included the L&F scene; there’s no dialogue change, but Sumio doesn’t ring the bell like he usually does. I included all three Ken/Christina conversations, the two optional ones that I didn’t show before and the mandatory one. Weirdly, Christina looks up at Sumio only during the mandatory one.
Supplement 3 concludes the main comparison of the requests. It definitely feels great to finish such a major part of the series. That said, there are still a few things left to show, specifically the DS-exclusive content and Katharine, so there is still one more video left for this series!
