There's just something about folks designing linear Doom-esque maps for something that's meant to be returnable like Strife. The hiccups that would quickly follow such a mindset. Points of no return that would make sense for a regular Doom map, but would be intolerable for Strife where you're meant to be able to reexplore finished maps.

I'm somewhat glad mods like Lost Frontier puts those tiny little hiccups and turn them into choking hazards. It's fascinating how both the little perfections and imperfections gets a spotlight shined on them when you got gameplay setups that practically demand doing something that regular players would pass by in a heartbeat. Reminds me of the Dwelling Sin run in Sensory Deprivation Chamber all over again.
