Point of View | Faraon Series | No Failure Run
4Bit of an odd setup, this one. This is all kind of meant to be continuous, but if my memories are correct, they're released separately. If you got to the end of one part, it just crashes asking for the next map. Faraon 4's the last one in the series as far as I know, so the crash being the climax of the mapset is just not very cricket. It's not the only misguided design decision that crosses the mind, but I'll explain the nature of the wirejam first.
Compared to the previous one where most of the focus is kinda put on a solo islave, this one has you fighting with a lot of allies. The original series only had you going in alone, but it's a notch tricky when hgrunts are in the dozens and your weapons don't exactly have the same "breathing space opener" like vanilla HL1's grenades. Pretty much all of PoV's weapons show up here, though I can't really remember if I'm missing one or two.
Right, the other odd decisions. Faraon 3 and 4's level transitions suck. It's very possible for you to get stuck in the middle of them and having to noclip. Had to repeat this very run multiple times 'cause I got stuck while running away from a hgrunt and then promptly die because of it. Couldn't even take a moment to consider if I'm fine cheating so long as the "failure" isn't my fault. I did my best in this run, but if you wanna play the mod combo yourself, do keep that in mind.
